Dani is a novelist with projects spanning from Gothic romance and horror to hard science fiction and magic-filled fantasy. Her current works-in-progress include a Victorian ghost story full of longing and lost love, a Southern Gothic tale of taboo romance, a quirky retelling of Midsummer Night’s Dream set in a traveling carnival, and a loving ode to her favorite webseries, set in the world of Dungeons & Dragons.
In addition to writing, she also runs a popular horror movie review blog on Tumblr and Twitter called Accursed Films, is a prolific Instagram photographer, and occasionally slings tarot cards on the side. She is an avid fan of tabletop gaming, A Song of Ice and Fire, Sherlock Holmes, strange historical figures, and folk music. Her favorite books are Nick Cave’s And the Ass Saw the Angel, Mark Z. Danielewski’s House of Leaves, and Clive Barker’s The Hellbound Heart.
Dani went to university in Chicago, where she studied Anthropology with a concentration in European folklore and early modern religion before financial difficulties and a string of bad health cut that plan short. However, she plans to resume her education as soon as possible.
She lives in a lovely little Hobbit hole in the Midwest, with her mom and two dogs – Lydia, a Yorkie, and Watson, a chihuahua. You can find her on her main Twitter, where she talks endlessly about writing, reading, daily life, and geeky stuff.
